We are seeking a dynamic Service Manager to join our team at HMP High Down, located in Sutton, Surrey. This is a full-time opportunity to lead within our innovative Prison Substance Misuse Service. The facility prioritises a health and wellbeing framework that is trauma-informed and gender-responsive. You will lead a dedicated team, collaborating closely with healthcare providers and stakeholders, to deliver holistic and recovery-focused services to male prisoners aged 18 and over. HMP High Down is a Category C men's training and resettlement prison with a forward-thinking approach and a diverse population.

What you will do
- Line manage Team Leaders within the Service, providing guidance and support to maximise effectiveness.
- Contribute to strategic planning and problem-solving in collaboration with the Regional Manager, aligned with the business plan.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within the service to ensure cohesive operations.
- Produce performance reports for commissioners and attend contract meetings to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Ensure all data accurately reflects service output, submitted within deadlines and audit compliant.
- Assume the role of CQC registered manager post-probation and ensure all CQC requirements are met.
- Demonstrate flexibility with service delivery, including evening and weekend shifts to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Level 3 or higher management qualification, or equivalent work experience in a similar setting.
- In-depth understanding of drug and alcohol services, including addiction treatment programmes, preferably within a prison environment.
- Proven experience in developing service improvements and managing people and performance effectively.
- Expertise in collecting, recording, and analysing data for audits and reports.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to solve problems positively.
- Knowledge of psychosocial and 12-step interventions, with experience in the voluntary sector and human resource management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database monitoring systems.
