A leading defence technology organisation is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of domestic commercial contracts. This role offers the opportunity to lead contract negotiation, ensure compliance, and contribute directly to business-critical programmes.
Location: Stevenage, UK – Hybrid (2-3 days on-site)
Salary: £62,000 - £68,000 depending on experience
Please note this role requires you to have British Citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Lead contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the full Route to Contract, including bid generation, cross-functional coordination, and approval of bespoke contract terms.
- Oversee contract delivery, including amendments, deliverable reviews, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and defence industry standards (e.g., ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS).
- Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Act as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders on contractual matters.
- Provide reporting and updates to senior management on contract status, risks, and issues.
- Manage and resolve contract disputes in collaboration with legal and relevant teams.
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience in commercial contract management, ideally within the defence sector.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and agreeing contracts and agreements.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with MoD contracting structures, including DEFCONs and QDCs, is advantageous.
