We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead a busy, multi-facility sports centre operation in Derbyshire. This role requires a strong operational leader who can balance commercial performance with exceptional customer service, while motivating and developing a large and diverse team. You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of facilities, staff, programming and commercial activity, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations while delivering an outstanding experience for all users. This is a highly visible leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys being present on the floor, solving problems in real time, and setting high standards through example.
The Role
- Full operational management of sports and leisure facilities
- Leading, developing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams
- Ensuring full Health & Safety compliance across all sites
- Driving commercial performance and maximising facility usage
- Managing budgets, staffing and service standards
- Building strong relationships with clubs, partners and customers
About You
- An experienced leisure or sports operations manager (minimum 3 years)
- A confident, hands-on leader who thrives in busy environments
- Strong in people management and team development
- Commercially minded with budget management experience
- Knowledgeable in health and safety compliance
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays
