We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in controls and automation systems to lead the delivery of complex building and industrial control projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands controls engineering workflows and can bridge the gap between clients, engineers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of controls and automation projects, from design through commissioning and handover.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams.
- Coordinate controls system design, panel build, software development, site installation, and commissioning activities.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Oversee change management, variations, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Review technical documentation including control strategies, I/O schedules, drawings, and software architecture.
- Support troubleshooting and technical decision-making during installation and commissioning phases.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear progress reporting to stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience managing controls, BMS, PLC, or automation projects.
- Strong understanding of control systems architecture, field devices, panels, networks, and software.
- Experience working with controls engineers, electricians, and commissioning teams.
- Ability to read and interpret control drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Solid project management skills (planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office.
Desirable Experience
- Background in BMS, HVAC controls, SCADA, PLCs, or industrial automation.
- Knowledge of industry-standard platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, Tridium, or similar).
- Formal project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar).
- Engineering or trade background in electrical or controls disciplines.
