Our Ideal Candidate
- Work with children and young adults taking their first steps into adulthood.
- Provide support in our semi-independent accommodation for young people (16-25) transitioning from care to independent living.
- Offer advice, guidance, and support on adult life skills, including money management, health, and decision-making, ensuring they are given every chance to independently live.
- Help young people access services related to health, benefits, employment, education and training.
- Support Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and those with challenging early life experiences and recognise their additional vulnerabilities.
- Assist young people with meal planning and simple cooking within a budget.
- Some lone working required, including planning shifts, completing admin, cleaning, and supporting service users.
- Undertake ongoing training provided to ensure compliance and professional development.
- Support the manager in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the homes.
- Maintain a rota and undertake payroll and HR responsibilities.
- Line manage staff, including delivering supervisions and performance reviews.
- Compile reports and complete tasks as required.
- Evaluate referrals to gauge suitability for our service and mix with other Young People.
- Support the responsible Service Manager.
- Work effectively within the Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People Workforce.
- Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care.
- Dynamic individuals to join our dedicated team.
- Ability to manage workload and complete written work proactively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with professionals and advocate for young people.
- Ability to build positive relationships and promote independence.
- Confidence in handling stressful or difficult situations.
- Enable staff and young people to understand risk and keep themselves safe.
- Self-motivated in both lone working and team environments.
- Understanding of general data protection.
- A commitment to providing the best outcomes for young people, with a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Managerial experience within a care setting.
- Ability to take over the running of the service in the absence of the manager.
- Extensive experience managing within a care setting.
