Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Power System Engineer to deliver and lead power system studies across transmission, distribution, and low‑carbon energy projects in the UK. The role combines hands‑on technical delivery with technical leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver power system studies including load flow, fault level, protection coordination, stability, and harmonics.
- Undertake grid connection and compliance studies in line with UK Grid Code, Distribution Code, and G99/G100.
- Support integration of renewables, BESS, and other emerging technologies.
- Review and approve technical reports, calculations, and designs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Interface with clients, National Grid, DNOs, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Typically 7+ years’ experience in power systems engineering.
- Strong experience with tools such as PowerFactory, PSS®E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
- Solid knowledge of UK electricity networks and standards.
- Ability to lead technical tasks and communicate effectively.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards.
- Experience in renewables, energy storage, or network planning.
