About Raeon. Custom batteries are inaccessible for too many. From motorbikes to UAVs, boats to robotics and everything in between, we build batteries differently to enable high performance, affordable optimisation.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic engineer to support the engineering team by developing high quality electrical designs and systems. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the electrical architecture of battery modules and packs, supporting both the design, manufacture and test of our custom battery products. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a highly multidisciplinary team, with many opportunities for growth and development within a fast paced startup environment. You will get the chance to support the creation of our batteries from concept and R&D through to manufacture and test, contributing to all areas of the business from your first day. Expectations
- A degree or equivalent qualifications in electrical, automotive or similar engineering fields.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in a similar technical role within the battery or electrification industry.
- Foundation level understanding of electrification systems, battery packs, creepage and clearance and high voltage systems.
- Ability to create and read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Basic CAD proficiency, ideally Solidworks or Fusion.
- Confidence using lab equipment, such as power supplies and electrical loads.
- Confidence using basic workshop tools.
- Experience with DC electrical systems, battery packs, bus bar specification, BMS systems and PDUs is desirable.
- Standards Awareness: Support the validation and certification of modules to UN38.3 and other standards.
- Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and teamwork skills both internally and externally.
- Ability to work both independently, in a team and will ask for help or feedback when needed.
- Enthusiastic and driven attitude, with a keen interest to learn and progress both personally and as a team.
- On-site Presence: Ability to work 40 hours a week, required on site at least 4 days a week.
- Flexibility: Willing to travel nationally and internationally if required.
