A Principal WTG Engineer is required to work on an outside IR35 contract basis. You will ideally have experience with engineering software including Bladed, Fast and Orcaflex. As the Principal Engineer you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line and be responsible for all activities related to turbine design and interface with turbine OEM in offshore wind.
How can you support us?
- Building and verification of aeroelastic model of the turbine
- Managing turbine controller tuning and development
- Performing all required checks of the turbine and controller
- Supporting the turbine tower design
- Monitoring, supporting and verifying the ILA liaising with external contractors related to the turbine model and controller
- Participating in the technical meetings with clients
- Providing support to the Offshore Wind business unit activities, in terms of advanced and non-conventional structural analyses and numerical simulations
- Writing comprehensive and top quality industry standard technical reports
Education
Chartered Engineer (Engineering Degree – Aeronautical degree preferred)
Experience
10-15 years in design for offshore wind covering both floating and fixed wind substructures.
Technical skills
Codes and standards, including DNV and IEC; turbine design; WTG.
IT skills
Engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365.
