Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with machinists, engineers, production teams & buyers
- Understand customer drawings, methods of manufacture, and machining challenges
- Recommend the right approach to help them hit tolerances, cycle times, and quality targets
- Generate and convert new business opportunities
- Work closely with distribution partners and end users
- Create accurate quotations for components and assemblies
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on project delivery
- Support with design work (jigs, fixtures, dies) and CAD drawings — full training provided
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship-trained OR experienced on a machining shopfloor
- Confident understanding how a part is made, start to finish
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and spot potential issues
- Comfortable explaining technical things in a clear, human way
- Curious, solutions-focused, and commercially aware
- Confident with customers at all levels
- Happy travelling to different sites
- Ready for a career progression route into sales, applications, or engineering consultancy
