We are now looking for a Commercial & General Manager to lead our warehouse operation, grow our customer base and look after what matters most to us – our people. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance commercial growth with day-to-day management, building strong relationships both inside and outside the business.
Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating and supporting a team of around 12 warehouse staff
- Creating a positive, respectful and high-performing working environment
- Actively attracting new business and customers, identifying growth opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships
- Overseeing the smooth running of the warehouse operation
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to support the company’s continued growth
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director to make strategic growth decisions
- Working with the marketing team to help promote our message to prospects
- Overall responsibility for the profitable growth of the business
What we’re looking for
- Proven people management experience - you value, develop and support your team
- A background in the logistics or 3PL business, with confidence in winning and retaining customers
- Warehouse experience (you won’t be hands-on in the warehouse, but you will need to understand how it all works in a busy 3PL business and may need to muck in when things are really busy!)
- Experience in solving international customs and logistics issues
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- A practical, approachable and caring leadership style
- Degree educated is preferable but not essential
- Someone who fully buys into and can embody our company’s 6 core values
- A good understanding of warehouse management software (preferably MintSoft)
What we offer
- £40,000 – £50,000 salary, depending on experience
- Private healthcare (after 1 year’s service)
- A supportive and growing company where your contribution really matters
- A friendly, down-to-earth team and a leadership role with real autonomy
If you’re someone who enjoys leading people, growing a business and being part of a company that genuinely cares, we’d love to hear from you.
