About the role
This is a proactive pipelining initiative. We are not actively hiring for this role at the moment. However, we are building a pipeline of strong and relevant candidates to contact and engage as soon as the opportunity officially opens.
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in data analysis, enterprise data flows, and reporting/analytics ecosystems. The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with structured and unstructured data, data modelling, cloud integrations, and investment-related datasets. This role requires excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate complex data requirements into clear technical and functional specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Querying: Retrieve and analyze data using SQL across multiple sources. Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support business and technology initiatives. Develop and validate data models for analytical and operational use cases. Apply data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Support Reference and Master Data Management (MDM) processes and improvements.
- Data Visualization & Analytics: Use Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for data validation, analysis, and impact assessments. Translate complex datasets into clear visual insights to support decision-making. Partner with BI teams to ensure business requirements align with reporting outputs.
- Data Governance & Metadata: Maintain and enhance data dictionaries, ensuring accuracy and alignment across teams. Document data lineage to provide transparency on data sourcing and transformations. Create and maintain data governance artefacts and support governance processes.
- Tools, Methods & Collaboration: Lead workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and process modelling activities. Write clear and structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. Support UAT planning and execution, using industry-standard testing frameworks and methodologies. Act as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring requirements are well understood and delivered.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar data-focused role.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with enterprise datasets.
- Practical understanding of data modelling, data quality, and MDM concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Familiarity with API-driven integrations and enterprise data flows.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of data dictionaries, lineage, and governance artefacts.
- Experience with investment/financial datasets is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
