We are seeking a commercially focused Structural Façade Engineer to take immediate ownership of a structural business stream in either London or Surrey. This role is designed for a leader who is ready to drive a specialist department with genuine autonomy and a clear path to the highest levels of the business.
Location: Surrey / London - hybrid working
Responsibilities:
- Lead and project manage high end façade structural engineering schemes from concept to final delivery;
- Act as the technical authority, performing complex structural analysis and reviewing third party calculations;
- Develop the business stream by identifying new opportunities and representing the firm at senior level design and client meetings;
- Create and standardise engineering tools, including automated spreadsheets and TEDDS templates, for wider team use;
- Oversee site installations and resolve critical technical challenges on site with architects and contractors;
- Integrate structural design with broader façade performance requirements, ensuring full compliance and technical excellence;
- Manage project priorities independently, driving growth with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Chartership or near chartership through the ICE or IStructE;
- Extensive technical experience in façade and cladding structural engineering;
- A commercially aware mindset, proactive, and ready to develop a business stream;
- Deep knowledge of façade materials, manufacturing processes, and modern construction methods;
- The ability to work independently while harmoniously collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team;
- Proven experience in a client facing role, capable of chairing meetings and managing external relationships.
