Overview: The role is for a Senior Civil Undergrounds Engineer with a market leading provider of Oil & Gas, LNG and Renewable facilities.
About the Role: Deliverables to include underground drainage design and drawings, utilities, paving, roads, specifications, design philosophies, etc. The work includes discipline support, concept studies, layouts, design calculations, specifications and review of vendor/subcontractor documents. The successful candidate should effectively communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers in a team environment. Interface communication across disciplines is a key requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility of the portion of the Undergrounds scope on the basis of the Lead Engineer guidance.
- Ensure that success criteria is targeted, and project objectives met in a timely manner.
- Liaise with other Senior UG Engineers and Designers both in Lead office and High Value Centres.
- Liaise with other disciplines as required.
- Define and ensure technical adequacy of design, and deliver design within budget and program.
- Conversant with drainage network calculations using Infodrainage.
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects of the work, both in terms of Oil and Gas practice are met.
- Act as a confident communicator ensuring inter-discipline communication and the ability to articulate solutions in project meetings.
- Continuously ensure designs provide an innovative and safe solution in construction.
Qualifications:
- Degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience with at least 8 years in Oil and Gas Industry as UG engineer.
- Familiar with codes and standards of ACI, ASCE, BS, and EN.
- Familiar with current engineering methods and possesses broad technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
- Proficient with computer applications and specialized engineering tools (e.g., Micro-drainage or similar).
- Experience across all phases of the project lifecycle, from FEED concepts through to detailed engineering.
- Design experience in underground, drainage, earthworks, paving and grading, roads and pavement design.
