The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead a range of estate development projects across its iconic London campus portfolio. The LSE was founded in 1895 and has grown to become one of the foremost social science universities in the world. A specialist university with an international intake, LSE's reach extends from its Central London campus to around the world.

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide named LSE University of the Year for 2025 and it has been ranked 1st in the UK for two years running in 2025 and 2026. The LSE Estates Division is responsible for developing and implementing the LSE Estates Strategy supporting the School's strategic objectives. Improving the student experience lies at the heart of what we do. We are focused on providing world-class buildings and facilities, and through excellent customer service, we aim to ensure the safe, secure and environmentally sound operation and maintenance of LSE assets.

The Estates Capital Development team has enjoyed unprecedented success in recent years, with acclaimed major projects and the Team winning various ‘client of the year’ accolades. Over the past decade, LSE has completed some of the most renowned university buildings in the UK. The Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, the School’s first new building in over forty years gained a Stirling Prize nomination, and the Marshall Building—a £145 million landmark building on campus —opened in 2022 to widespread acclaim.

Looking ahead, LSE’s ambitious capital plan extends to 2030 and beyond. Projects include the Firoz Lalji Global Hub, a deep retrofit of a 1950s building targeting Passivhaus, BREEAM Outstanding, and WELL Platinum standards, the redevelopment of 61 Aldwych into a flagship academic hub and gateway to the campus, and transforming Bankside House, LSE’s largest student residence, into a vibrant community of nearly 2,000 rooms.

The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in this exciting programme, leading the briefing, design, procurement, and delivery of capital projects typically up to £35 million in value. The successful candidate will manage complex programmes across the campus and residential estate, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

LSE is seeking an individual with a proven track record of planning and delivering projects in the £5m to £35m range, either in a client-side leadership role or as a consultant project manager. Experience of delivering refurbishment, reconfiguration, and fit-out projects within a live, multi-building, urban campus environment would be particularly advantageous.

The role offers an individual the opportunity to progress their career with a renowned organisation and project portfolio within a team that is recognised as being industry leading. The LSE offers a range of staff benefits, including a generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, and excellent training and development opportunities.

Applications should consist of a CV and cover letter and should be sent to [contact information]. Closing date for applications is 15th February 2026. Interviews will be held in late February 2026.

LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university. We encourage and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
