About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Adult Social Care service in North London. The role involves providing a professional fieldwork service to adults with physical or sensory disabilities, including individuals who are terminally ill, and supporting their carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional fieldworker service to service users and carers
- Undertake appropriate assessments of need in line with current legislation and local authority policies
- Arrange, monitor, and review care packages, small equipment, and minor adaptations
- Support service users to promote independence and improve quality of life
- Ensure services are delivered effectively within available resources
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle for work purposes
- Physically able to transport and install low-level equipment for assessment purposes
- Ability to attend on-site work
- Ability to start work immediately
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Previous experience working with adults with physical or sensory disabilities
- Relevant legislation and local authority procedures
- Strong communication and organisational skills
