An opportunity ideally for an experienced ambitious underwriter who is keen to add value, working within a growing marine cargo division. This role offers an opportunity to be involved as part of a start-up scenario discussing strategic capacity, continuing to build the book, developing longevity with brokers and the wider management team. There is an opportunity to write a board spread of international cargo business, for goods-in-transit, stock-throughput and storage. Broad appetite including oil and gas, manufactured goods, metals and minerals. Marine liability business will also be incorporated in the future, so this experience would be beneficial. The role will involve sitting at the box, representing the business in person and some travel in the future.
Responsibilities
- Write a board spread of international cargo business for goods-in-transit, stock-throughput and storage.
- Represent the business in person at the box and travel as required in the future.
- Contribute to discussions on strategic capacity in a start-up marine cargo division and help continue to build the book.
- Develop longevity with brokers and the wider management team.
- Engage with a broad appetite including oil and gas, manufactured goods, metals and minerals.
Qualifications
- Experienced ambitious underwriter with a focus on marine cargo.
- Experience relevant to international cargo, goods-in-transit, stock-throughput and storage; interest in future marine liability work.
