Fast-growing scale-up. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-moving engineering team as a Junior Backend Engineer. You'll help build and maintain scalable backend systems that power real-world applications, working closely with product and front-end teams. It's a hands-on role designed for someone early in their backend career who's excited to learn, ship, and grow.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain server-side logic using modern backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Python, Go)
- Work with APIs β designing, integrating, and maintaining RESTful endpoints
- Support database design and optimisation (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Collaborate with front-end and product teams to deliver full-stack features
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Help improve system performance, scalability, and security
- Participate in code reviews and learn from senior engineers
- Stay curious and keep learning β especially in areas like DevOps, testing, or AI tooling
Qualifications
- 1β2 years of experience (including internships or personal projects) in backend development
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
- Basic understanding of how REST APIs work
- Familiarity with databases and version control (e.g. Git)
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn fast and take feedback
- Bonus: any experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), testing frameworks, or containerisation
