Junior Backend Engineer.

Fast-growing scale-up. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-moving engineering team as a Junior Backend Engineer. You'll help build and maintain scalable backend systems that power real-world applications, working closely with product and front-end teams. It's a hands-on role designed for someone early in their backend career who's excited to learn, ship, and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain server-side logic using modern backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Python, Go)
  • Work with APIs β€” designing, integrating, and maintaining RESTful endpoints
  • Support database design and optimisation (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Collaborate with front-end and product teams to deliver full-stack features
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
  • Help improve system performance, scalability, and security
  • Participate in code reviews and learn from senior engineers
  • Stay curious and keep learning β€” especially in areas like DevOps, testing, or AI tooling

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience (including internships or personal projects) in backend development
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Go, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of how REST APIs work
  • Familiarity with databases and version control (e.g. Git)
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn fast and take feedback
