This prestigious private members club based in South West is now looking to appoint a Governance professional on a permanent basis. This role can be considered on a full-time or part-time basis (no fewer than 3 days per week). This is a fantastic opportunity to join and help an organisation that is steeped in history.
As the Governance Officer you will provide comprehensive governance and secretariat services support and play a crucial role in supporting the governance structure of the Club to ensure compliance with its rules and regulations.
Responsibilities- Provide governance and secretariat services to support the governance structure of the Club and ensure compliance with its rules and regulations.
- Work closely with the Club’s Trustees, Main Committee, principal sub-committees and senior leadership team to promote effective governance practices across the organisation.
- Take ownership of the governance function with flexibility and autonomy, contributing to the smooth running of the organisation.
- Offer advisory input in a highly visible role and help educate members and stakeholders on governance matters.
- Strong, documented experience in governance and broader company secretarial duties across diverse organisations.
- Experience of working with membership organisations is of particular interest.
- Technical governance expertise paired with a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to engage effectively with members and stakeholders.
- Comfort working in an advisory capacity in a visible role.
- Ability to adapt to various arrangements and supporting on a wide range of governance matters.
The role is largely based at the club in South West London. Hybrid working is available with one day a week from home, as well as additional ad-hoc remote working and/or more flexible arrangements can be considered.
