The Role
The main purpose of this role is to manage an existing portfolio of business in the European Grocery channel. The account base has huge potential and the aim is to grow export sales significantly within the next three to five years. This is eminently possible, and this is a great opportunity for somebody who is a go getter, and really wants to make a name for themselves. The job sells into the European retailers but via various European distributors. In terms of retailers, the job holder will be dealing with the likes of Carrefour, Migros, Auchan, Mercadona, Albert Heijn, Jumbo. In terms of distributors, likes of Atlante (an Italian distributor). There'll be quite a lot of NPD / Innovation, and the job holder will be involved in working closely with the NPD team. Export territories are yet to be decided but will likely include France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg (Benelux).
The Person
- Export sales experience is essential, ideally to Europe but candidates with exposure to any international territories would definitely be considered.
- It's also important that candidates have an understanding of the different kinds of international trading terms.
- Exposure to both the distributor channel and the retail channel would be ideal although they would just about consider candidates with exposure to one or the other.
- Some experience of or at least an understanding of NPD would be a bonus, but is not essential.
- Category Exposure – any FMCG. Chilled, ambient, or frozen.
- Exposure to any one of the above specific international retailers and/or distributors or similar would be a bonus.
- Based commutable to the office in London.
