We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager - Operations to lead and oversee the delivery of asset management activities across a large-scale FM environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, optimising maintenance strategies, and driving operational excellence through robust processes and data-driven decision-making. You will manage a team of 30 engineers working across various shifts, requiring strong leadership and communication skills to engage a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of asset management activities, including asset registers, CAFM data uploads, and maintenance plans.
- Ensure maintenance procedures align with manufacturer specifications and SFG20 standards.
- Own the compliance calendar and evidence trail for statutory and mandatory activities (LOLER, PUWER, Fire & Life Safety, Water Hygiene, Gas Safety, Electrical).
- Lead internal assurance audits and produce compliance dashboards, KPIs, and risk reports.
- Define critical asset lists and spares strategies to meet resilience and uptime targets.
- Oversee PPM strategies aligned to SFG20/OEM guidance and optimise frequencies based on performance and condition.
- Manage and update asset condition and lifecycle reports, ensuring CAFM records remain accurate and up to date.
- Drive health and safety culture on site, enforcing zero tolerance for unsafe practices and implementing safe systems of work.
Professional And Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering/Building Services (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of asset management principles and statutory frameworks.
- Proven experience with CAFM systems and data governance; advanced Excel/Power BI skills.
- Working knowledge of SFG20, OEM guidance, and UK technical compliance regulations.
- Demonstrable experience in leading compliance audits, PPM optimisation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Team management experience across multi-trade engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ideally, experience in retail FM environments.
