Reports to: Group Head of Digital

Responsible for: No direct internal reports. External agency management

Communicators: Position works closely with the Group Head of Digital and with all key marketing teams as necessary, as well as external providers and agencies. Working with key warehouse and supply chain teams as well as the Sales team.

Main purpose: This commercial role exists to drive the online presence and performance of the portfolio of The Lakes Distillery brands across DTC, optimising the website and digital marketplaces to ensure a seamless customer experience to maximise sales.

Scope: This role involves managing online sales and distribution while ensuring compliance with alcohol regulations. It includes optimising digital platforms, driving customer engagement, and using data analytics for sales growth. The role also focuses on product launches, partnerships, and omnichannel integration for a luxury user experience across owned digital touchpoints and product fulfilment.

Responsibilities:

  • Run the operation & optimisation of The Lakes' Distillery DTC presence with a particular focus on the brand website (https://lakesdistillery.com).
  • Take responsibility for the technical aspects of site trading, ensuring we are optimised to drive strong conversion rates for the various markets & collections, and key products have exposure at the right times according to the communications plan.
  • Oversee website development, support tickets & maintenance and implement strategies to enhance functionality, conversion rate and user engagement.
  • Build the business case and lead the management of any new integrations, website migration projects, app plugins or innovative developments.
  • Deliver regular reporting on performance and recommendations for further optimisations.
  • Identify & execute strategies to boost online trading performance within the context of a luxury DTC brand portfolio to ensure that we are protecting and building brand equity while maximising sales.
  • Use data analytic tools to track & manage key performance indicators.
  • Oversee technical and on‐page search engine optimisation, web speed and performance.
  • Create and manage website content and pages and product catalogues, implementing new content, promotional strategies, and product releases as required for each of the brands.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams internally to implement respective communications plans and trading strategies, in particular working alongside digital marketing & brand managers, warehouse & supply chain, and customer service executives.
  • Use a customer first approach to strategically plan the brands DTC presence across all owned digital environments from brand.com to marketplaces such as Amazon and Citrus.
  • Devise & manage CRO & UX testing roadmap for continuous innovation across DTC platforms.
  • Manage web development agencies & budget to ensure that they are delivering work that drives sales and brand equity.

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in ecommerce retail environment, working across multiple platforms.
  • Experienced user of Shopify, Wordpress & other CMS platforms as well as with proficiency in Google Analytics & reporting software.
  • Experience in omni‐channel retail models and how they can work together to drive incremental sales.
  • Strong data analysis skills, specifically related to web traffic, customer engagement & conversion rates.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage multiple, cross‐functional stakeholders.
  • International experience advantageous but not essential.
  • Passion for technology and digital media, with up to date technical and hands‐on knowledge of digital marketing skills, including SEO, CRO, PPC and social media.
  • An understanding of how a luxury DTC brand should operate within the digital space.
