Design Build Search is seeking a Contracts Manager on behalf of our client based in London. The position is suited to an accomplished construction professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys contributing to large-scale, high-profile projects. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading the delivery phase of a major Data Centre development, ensuring the project is executed safely, efficiently, and profitably. A key aspect of the role involves cultivating strong client relationships and supporting future business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety excellence across the project team.
- Encourage a collaborative and inclusive team environment, setting the standard for positive workplace behaviour.
- Identify and pursue new business prospects, converting leads into viable projects.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, design partners, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the full bid lifecycle from initial lead through to mobilisation, supported by the Commercial Manager.
- Lead project teams to achieve programme milestones while maintaining profit margins.
- Monitor and guide the commercial performance of all assigned projects.
- Work closely with the commercial team to assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership to support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the business.
Requirements
- 15 years’ construction experience, with at least 5 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering large-scale projects as the Project Lead for a main contractor in the Data Centre Industry.
- Experience in the Irish/UK construction industry is essential.
- Third level qualification in related discipline would be an advantage.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build and retain strong teams to drive projects to completion.
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities with existing or new clients.
- Pro-active, self-starter, comfortable in dealing with difficult circumstances or ambiguity.
- Strong relationship builder, who can foster and manage productive relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
- Full clean drivers’ licence.
