A leading global investment and wealth management firm managing assets across multiple strategies and client segments is seeking a Business Architect to shape the future of its core investment services function. It is undergoing a significant multi-year transformation, modernising both how the business operates and underpinning technology.
You will be instrumental in defining the blueprint for this change!
The Role
- Design the Future State — Develop business architecture artefacts including capability models, value streams, and process architectures, create target operating model designs covering organisation, roles, governance, and ways of working and define location strategies and evaluate delivery models (build vs buy vs partner); translate strategic objectives into clear architectural blueprints.
- Enable Transformation — Advise on the change portfolio, ensuring initiatives align with the strategic vision, provide design governance and oversight across transformation programmes, create roadmaps that sequence change for maximum impact and minimum risk, and support steering committees with strategic design input.
- Practice Building & Strategy — Develop methodologies, templates, and toolkits for business architecture and operating model design, establish vision statements and guiding principles to anchor decision-making, and collaborate with technology and data architecture colleagues to ensure alignment; identify capability gaps and opportunities for improvement; advise on challenges, risks, and dependencies in operating model evolution; shape and influence complex strategic initiatives at senior levels.
Requirements
- Business architectures and target operating models, documenting and driving decisions.
- Wealth or Investment management spanning front office support, operations, and distribution.
- Full investment lifecycle — Data, transactions, decisions flow across the value chain.
- Organisation design, location strategy, insource/outsource decisions, governance frameworks.
- Engage with senior stakeholders including C-suite across business and tech.
- Enterprise-wide change strategies that integrate business and technology perspectives.
- Effective influencer and ability to reach consensus without direct authority.
- Skilled negotiator who navigates competing priorities with diplomacy.
- Industry trends, margin pressure, technology modernisation, operating model evolution.
- Modern data and technology concepts (cloud platforms, API architecture) is advantageous.
