We currently have an exciting opportunity with a leading global sports broadcast services provider to recruit an experienced Broadcast Manager for their Broadcast Operations team. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of live event delivery, supporting global broadcasters and rights holders through the planning, coordination, and live transmission of major sporting events.
The Broadcast Manager will play a central role in ensuring the smooth and reliable delivery of live broadcast transmission services. Working across both a planning environment and a live operations centre, the role involves managing contribution and distribution workflows, coordinating suppliers, and supporting live events in real time.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate live event coverage with internal production and technical teams
- Support contribution and distribution services for in-house production and global broadcast partners
- Liaise with third-party suppliers to arrange transmission bookings via satellite, fibre, BT Tower, and IP-based solutions (e.g. SRT)
- Manage transmission schedules, bookings, and technical requirements across multiple events
- Provide post-event operational support and communication with rights holders
- Monitor live contribution and distribution services during events
- Route feeds and manage transmission paths from the Broadcast Operations Helpdesk
- Maintain accurate logs, timings, reports, and technical documentation
- Liaise with engineering, production, and technical teams to resolve transmission or operational issues
- Provide live technical troubleshooting and support to global partners
- Act as a key point of contact for bookings, changes, and fault management
- Supply broadcasters with up-to-date schedules, distribution details, and live updates
- Confidently monitor video and audio signals, manage talkback, and maintain professional on-air etiquette
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of broadcast contribution and distribution workflows ideally from a live sports broadcasting environment
- Experience with satellite, fibre, IP delivery (SRT/Zixi), and BT Tower services
- Hands-on experience in live broadcast operations or transmission monitoring
- Ability to troubleshoot live broadcast issues under pressure
- Experience managing complex broadcast schedules and bookings
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with signal routing, audio/video monitoring, and talkback systems
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced broadcast operations team
