The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.
This is primarily a hardware-based role, but working closely with other disciplines, most software engineering. The Applications Engineer will acquire and apply deep knowledge of ISDI's image sensor semiconductors and X-ray imaging systems, and will play an essential part in all parts of the product creation process, from initial requirements to final product validation, to supporting end-users.
Essential Requirements
- BSc, BEng, Masters, NVQ/SVQ 5-7 level in or equivalent in electronic or electrical engineering, systems engineering or similar discipline
- At least 2 years' experience in a handsâon electronicsârelated role. This could be in test, design, research or applications, and could include university or hobby projects.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of digital/analogue circuit technologies.
- Scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, VBA.
- Knowledge of semiconductor image sensors or X-ray imaging systems.
- Requirements-based testing techniques and V&V planning.
- C / C++ Software application development (Windows).
- Writing datasheets and application notes.

Responsibilities
- Become a technical expert on Xâray detector panels and CMOS image sensors.
- Plan and carry out engineering tests of image sensors, Xâray detector panels and associated systems, including validation and verification of hardware, firmware and software.
- Support customers in the field with technical support and advice.
- Create and maintain a knowledge base of applications knowâhow.
- Resolution of technical problems, failure analysis, statistical reporting.
Working environment
- Based in ISDI's offices and R&D centre in Kentish Town, London. Primarily onâsite working with occasional working from home.
- Close working with ISDI's engineering teams in London and Villach, Austria, as well as customers.
- Wellâequipped facilities including electronics and mechanical engineering lab, cleanroom, semiconductor wafer prober.
- Close proximity to ISDI's production centre.
- Occasional travel to overseas customer sites.
