LOCATION: Leicester
SALARY: Up to £65k
Main Purpose of the Job: Installation and commissioning of various types of Power generation machinery and training customers.
Travel: Would typically travel 10-12 times per year for anything from a few days (Europe) to 1 or 2 weeks (further afield). Maximum single travel duration is roughly 4 or 5 weeks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & KPIs
- Installation & Commissioning
- In house pre-commissioning to customer contract requirements
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification
- Preparation of appropriate documentation including inspection documentation, test plans, test reports, site reports and manuals
- Liaise with all in house departments ensuring machines meet specification
- Customer demonstrations
- Installation of machines in customer premises throughout the world
- Training of customer personnel
- Industrial electrical wiring
- Installation and updating of control software
- Learn and implement applications for all the machines we build
- Learn and implement application for different materials used
- Liaise with customer and apply appropriate actions to requests
- All aspects of mechanical engineering including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical fitting and machining parts both in house and throughout the world
- Dismantling of finished machines
- Plan travel arrangements worldwide
- Input to, and work in accordance with, the overall production schedule to ensure customer deliveries are met
- Inspect machines to ensure that company are providing customers with high quality durable machinery
- Test the machines to comply with customer specification
- Test machines to customer Factory Acceptance Test
- Prepare Quality Assurance documentation
- Prepare in house Factory Acceptance test for machinery
- Developing and testing new machinery
- Customer demonstrations/trials
- Plan and run trials with new products
- Sound understanding of controls and instrumentation (including pneumatics)
- Monitor customer Emails and react accordingly
- Ensure all breakdowns and customer issues are logged and dealt with
- Ensure to log all outstanding issues
- Ensure all checklists for job activities are kept fully up to date
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- ONC/HNC or equivalent degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Understanding of electrical, pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
- Experience and understanding of PLC based software systems and diagnostics
- Overseas travel experience necessary, including installation, training and technical support
- Product Knowledge and previous background in similar industry is ideal
- Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles

- Ideally experience of delegating and managing work
- Ensure products are specified and integrated to provide ease of use and maintenance for all users, including documentation and training manuals/instructions
- Assist the production and sales of technical advice for special machines
- Documenting technical processes
- Understanding the quality, cost and delivery implications of different technical solutions and guide our project team and our clients to the optimum solution for their situation
