Our client is searching for a Consultant Psychologist to work across two sites, supporting adult male patients within Level 2 Rehabilitation settings.

About The Services
The site based in Leeds is a Level 2 Rehabilitation service supporting adult males with a range of mental health disorders. The service focuses on enabling individuals to build confidence and skills to move forward and return to community living.
The site near Wakefield provides Level 2 Rehabilitation services across two wards, supporting adult male patients with mental health disorders and increasing physical health needs. The service also provides specialist support within neuropsychiatry, alongside older people and neurocognitive/dementia provision, community-focused rehabilitation, and care for individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
- As Consultant Psychologist, you will work closely with the MDT to deliver high-quality psychological leadership and specialist clinical input across both hospitals.
- You will be responsible for driving psychologically informed practice, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting service development.
- Providing senior psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for service users with complex and enduring needs.
- Leading on the development of individual formulations and psychologically informed care planning within MDT settings.
- Delivering highly specialist therapy interventions on an individual and group basis, aligned to the needs of the population.
- Supporting and guiding the wider MDT through psychologically informed consultation to reduce risk, improve engagement and promote recovery.
- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of behavioural and psychological interventions across both sites.
- Supervising and supporting psychologists, assistant psychologists and trainee psychologists, ensuring excellent standards of clinical practice.
- Contributing to clinical governance activity, including audit, service improvement and outcome monitoring.
- Working collaboratively with leadership and clinical colleagues to support strategic service development and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A confident grasp of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Experience in at least two additional therapeutic modalities (appropriate to complex rehabilitation settings).
- A strong understanding of therapy principles, with a willingness to undertake additional training where required.
- Experience working with complex presentations, including those requiring specialist interventions and risk-informed approaches.
- Proven ability to operate at a strategic level, contributing to service planning, development and improvement.
- Training and experience in clinical supervision.
- Strong leadership and management capability, with a track record of supporting team development and embedding psychologically informed practice.
- Relevant professional registration/accreditation with an appropriate body (e.g. BPS / BABCP or equivalent), alongside appropriate postgraduate qualifications.
