Overview

Position: Machinist/Fitter (Permanent)

Location: Kidderminster, Worcestershire

Industry: Oil & Gas

Salary: Hourly rate up to £17.50 per hour – 40 hour week (depending on experience) plus performance bonus paid twice yearly in June and December payslips, plus flexitime (employees can choose their working pattern).

Company: PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. The role is based in a busy production environment with a strong team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake machining duties as required, in accordance with company quality standards and best engineering practices.
  • Maintain timely and efficient work to meet contractual delivery requirements.
  • Assist with peripheral activities such as assembly and packing as required.
  • Support adherence to health, safety, and quality standards in all work activities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a positive approach to duties as needed.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Experience using machinery such as vertical/horizontal borers, lathes and drilling machines.
  • Maths and English GCSE grade 4/5 (equivalent to grade C) is preferable but not essential.

Hours of Work

Works hours enable flexitime working, covering a 40 hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday: 8.5 hour shift with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break and a 10 minute paid break in the morning and afternoon. Friday: 6 hour shift with no lunch break but a 20 minute paid break. Overtime is available dependent upon workload; further details will be given at interview stage.
