This role sits within an established FPGA engineering team supporting performance-critical trading systems. The position offers hands-on exposure across the full FPGA development lifecycle, working closely with software engineers and trading stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and integration of FPGA applications, gaining experience in low-latency systems while building a strong foundation within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside software engineers and trading teams to design and deploy FPGA solutions across trading platforms.
- Deliver FPGA applications end-to-end, including RTL design, synthesis, place & route, and static timing analysis.
- Develop and maintain shared testing and validation frameworks.
- Support FPGA–software integration by building APIs and optimising interfaces.
- Identify and propose practical solutions to FPGA, hardware, and system-level constraints.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2–3 years’ experience in FPGA engineering within defence, aerospace, telecoms, or research-driven environments.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on, full-time FPGA development experience.
- Strong VHDL development capability with supporting Python skills.
- Experience working in Linux-based development environments.
- Solid engineering fundamentals with good coding and design discipline.
- Comfortable collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge of networking, computer architecture, and verification concepts.
- Prior exposure to C/C++ is beneficial but not essential.
- Clear interest in technology-driven trading or financial markets.
