We’re seeking a Design Manager to join a global leader in ground engineering. With operations in over 25 locations worldwide, this company is a recognised market leader and part of a major international construction group, offering both financial stability and a strong pipeline of future project work.
Initially, you’ll be assigned to one of the UK’s largest standalone infrastructure projects, where you’ll play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of multiple work packages within this landmark ground engineering scheme. You’ll be instrumental in developing innovative, cost-effective solutions and tackling complex engineering and technical challenges to help deliver this project successfully.
What will you be doing?
- Support the technical management and delivery of engineering projects from tender to execution.
- Ensure compliance with standards and contribute to innovative, cost-effective solutions, including collaborating with UK and international teams, participating in technical reviews, and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Manage the technical aspects of projects from tender through execution.
- Manage the coordination and review of design activities in line with ISO procedures, Eurocodes, and industry standards.
- Provide hands-on technical support to project teams to help meet programme, cost, quality, and safety targets.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to value engineering during tenders.
- Engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives and support the continuous improvement of technical processes.
- Support the coordination of technical engineers and draftspersons in the UK.
- Collaborate with Technical Centres and external partners.
- Prepare technical documentation, case studies, and marketing content.
- Represent the organisation in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
What do you need?
- A Degree or Masters in Geotechnical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Significant post-graduate experience gained working for a contractor or consultancy across ground engineering projects.
- Be familiar with Eurocodes, DMRB, CDM, and HSEQ standards.
- Have experience in using geotechnical or structural design and engineering software.
What’s on offer?
A salary of between £80,000 - £90,000, plus a car allowance of around £6,000, 26 days holiday, Employer Pension contribution of up to 8%, Private medical cover and a Performance related bonus. You will also receive a tax-free monthly accommodation allowance should this be required.
