As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of the civil, mechanical or electrical infrastructure and structural elements of a Subsea Cable Factory Project in the Port of Nigg. You will serve as the primary point of contact between contractors, project stakeholders, and engineering teams, ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site construction to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks; identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including daily logs, progress reports, inspection records, and as-built drawings.
- Provide technical guidance, interpret design documents, and resolve engineering issues arising during construction.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure clear communication and timely issue resolution.
- Review and manage variations to scope, schedule, and cost, assessing impacts and supporting informed decision-making.
- Maintain continuous coordination with the design team to ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.
Qualifications
- Must Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience with strong site supervision and project delivery exposure.
- Proven experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, inspections, and applicable codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Proficiency with site and project management software.

- Master’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification.
- Safety certifications (OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Advanced discipline-specific expertise: Civil: Structural design and Eurocodes; Mechanical: HVAC, plumbing, ASME standards; Electrical: Power systems and IEC standards.
