We are looking for an experienced Welding Co-ordinator to join our busy Fabrication team in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. The Welding Co-ordinator will be responsible for providing technical leadership to oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Welding Engineering and QC team on a day-to-day basis, to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the welding department.
- Liaison with stores, materials, welding engineer, inspectors, project engineers and workshop to meet project requirements.
- Maintenance of all company calibrated equipment and associated registers to maintain compliance as per company processes and procedures.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of database and the department’s associated processes to achieve constant sustainable improvement.
- Working in accordance with company procedures and contribute to revisions when identified.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience of welding similar products in accordance with ASME, EN/ ISO, AWS and EEMUA standards.
- Experience with carbon and low alloy steels, austenitic and duplex stainless steels and copper/nickel alloys.
- Understanding of quality requirements in accordance with the ISO 3834 series and ISO 14731.
- Knowledge of welding related tasks as specified in ISO 14731 Annex B.
- Theoretical knowledge of metallurgy and welding to a level relevant to the Company.
- Experience in organising and leading a team safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge & understanding of industry & regulatory fabrication test & inspection requirements.
- Previous experience in a welding engineering role specific to oil and gas.
- Experience in working to schedules.
- General computer skills including Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Current and valid UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the offshore service industry or similar environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Materials/ Metallurgy related subject.
- IIW/EWF – European/International Welding Specialist.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
