The predicted salary is between 50400 - 84000 ÂŁ per year.
Location: Horsham – 3 days/week onsite
Duration: 6 months+ contract, inside IR35
Rate: ÂŁ700/day, inside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Governance: Define, maintain, and enforce quality standards for product development and operations. Oversee adherence to the new PDLC across all domain teams. Conduct quality reviews for requirements, architecture, delivery processes, and release readiness. Ensure consistency in definitions, acceptance criteria, documentation, and operational discipline.
- Supervisory Quality Control: Act as the top-level reviewer for quality risks across all streams. Monitor compliance via audits, checkpoints, and quality gates. Identify deviations from agreed standards and initiate corrective actions. Possess authority to block releases or milestones that fail to meet quality criteria.
- Product Quality Oversight: Validate that product increments meet business goals and customer expectations. Ensure quality is embedded early (“shift-left”) and is transparent across domains. Monitor non-functional quality: performance, resilience, operational readiness.
- Process Quality & Operational Excellence: Track and enforce process discipline across planning, delivery, and support activities. Maintain clarity and consistency around ways of working: PDLC steps readiness/done criteria documentation rules compliance requirements. Ensure teams follow proper standards for decision‑making, change control, and release procedures.
- Cross‑Team Alignment: Work closely with Program Management, Product Owners, Architects, Team Leads, and QA teams. Facilitate quality governance ceremonies and cross‑domain reviews. Ensure operational practices are unified across all domains.
- Risk & Quality Reporting: Maintain a quality risk register and raise issues early. Provide regular reports on compliance, gaps, trends, and improvements. Advise leadership on quality posture and potential impact on delivery.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Quality Governance, PMO, Delivery Management, Product Development, or similar experience
- Solid understanding of software development, product lifecycle, and delivery processes
- Experience in enterprise‑scale programs or transformations
- Ability to supervise teams (without direct people management)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience conducting quality audits, reviews, or compliance assessments
- Ability to challenge decisions constructively and enforce standards when needed
Strong Plus:
- Technical background in engineering, architecture, or QA
- Experience with cloud transformations
- Experience in PDLC‑oriented organizations (product companies)
- Familiarity with operational readiness, SRE concepts, or release governance
