We are looking for an experienced ERP Specialist to join our Enterprise Systems team and play a key role in the design, development, and ongoing stability of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) platform. Working closely with Operations, Finance, and IT stakeholders, you will focus primarily on Supply Chain and Finance solutions, acting as a technical escalation point for the ERP support team and contributing to the delivery of system enhancements that support performance across the business.
Reporting to the ERP Lead, this is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building robust solutions, and working in a fast-paced, engineering-led environment.
Main duties- Technical Systems Design & Delivery
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions within D365 F&O.
- Deliver hands-on system customisations and configurations, including:
- Extending fields, tables, and forms
- Developing and maintaining SSRS reports
- Creating and managing security roles and duties
- Enhancing and supporting workflows
- Identify gaps in standard D365 functionality and design, build, test, and deploy enhancements using best-practice extensibility principles.
- Review and support technical designs to ensure upgrade-safe solutions.
- Maintain oversight of D365 F&O technical architecture, integrations, reporting, and data flows.
- Support and enhance integrations between D365 F&O and other enterprise platforms.
- Ensure solutions are secure, performant, and aligned with organisational standards.
- Work closely with functional consultants, systems analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
- Act as a technical advisor to Operations and Finance teams, explaining system behaviour, limitations, and enhancement options.
- Contribute technical input into the ERP and Enterprise Systems roadmap.
- Act as a technical escalation point for ERP support, delivering root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Support deployments, releases, and hotfixes across environments.
- Assist with regression testing and validation of system changes.
- Ensure all changes comply with internal governance, security, and regulatory standards.
- Promote best practices for documentation, change management, and code quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, usability, and maintainability.
- Reduce manual or off-system processes by enhancing D365 capabilities.
- Identify technical risks related to customisations, integrations, and legacy components.
- Propose and implement mitigation strategies to ensure platform stability and upgrade readiness.
- Proven hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or AX 2012).
- Experience delivering at least three end-to-end D365/AX implementations.
- Strong knowledge of D365 F&O architecture, extensibility framework, security model, workflows, SSRS reporting, and integrations.
- Ability to independently deliver small-to-medium technical changes.
- Experience supporting or developing integrations with external systems.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in engineering-led or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to PLM integrations and low-code platforms.
- Microsoft D365 certifications (Finance, Supply Chain, or Technical).
