Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within a primary school setting. Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, the LSA will provide tailored academic, behavioural, and emotional support to ensure pupils can access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

Pupil Support

  • Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Support pupils to access learning activities in line with their EHCPs and individual support plans.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies, including de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques.

Safeguarding & Well-being

  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils in line with school policies.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and behaviour plans.
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and promote positive mental health.
