We are recruiting a Mechanical Design Team Lead to take ownership of the design and delivery of advanced technical applications. This is a senior technical leadership role combining hands-on engineering with team development and global project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineer looking to take a step into management. The role will initially involve managing a team of 2 with potential scope to grow to a department of 8β10.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Process Design Engineers, driving the development of innovative engineered solutions with global reach.
- Own system requirements, architecture, and design standards across relevant product lines β ensuring consistent design rules, calculation methods, and verification approaches.
- Recruit, develop, and coach a high-performing team: defining role profiles and development plans, fostering a strong culture of product quality and continuous improvement.
- Lead the design and development of systems and infrastructure with complex, high-tech applications.
- Collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams within a global engineering organisation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should hold a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or similar) and bring experience developing complex mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of applicable engineering standards (CE/UKCA, UL, machinery safety) and experience with 3D CAD and PDM/PLM systems are essential.
- Prior experience leading engineers or workstreams in a matrix or international environment is highly advantageous.
