Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Integration & Verification Engineer to support a secure technology programme within the defence domain. The successful engineer will have experience across the full systems lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on the rightâhand side of the VâModel (Verification, Validation, Qualification & Acceptance). This position involves handsâon interaction with complex system environments including networking, infrastructure, Unix/Linux and missionâcritical integration platforms. Due to the sensitive and secure nature of the work, as well as the requirement to operate and integrate directly with physical systems and secure infrastructure, this role requires the engineer to be onsite 5 days per week. The work will be conducted in secure lab and operational environments where remote access is not feasible or permitted.
Responsibilities
- Planning and executing system verification, validation and acceptance activities
- Defining test strategies, verification methods and acceptance criteria
- Performing system integration in secure lab or operational environments
- Developing and maintaining test procedures, reports and documentation
- Supporting defect investigation and traceability processes
- Engaging with engineering, operations and customerâfacing stakeholders
- Supporting readiness assessments and acceptance milestones
- Managing and operating test environments across networking and infrastructure layers
- Ensuring conformance to requirements, standards and compliance obligations
Key Requirements
Essential
- Experience in systems verification, validation, system integration, or system test roles
- Strong understanding of the systems VâModel lifecycle, particularly V&V activities
- Solid handsâon experience with Networking & Infrastructure
- Proficiency with Unix and Linux environments
- Experience in secure, missionâcritical or defenceârelated environments
- Ability to work fullâtime on customer premises (5 days per week) due to the nature of the work and secure environment requirements
- Strong reporting and documentation capability
Desirable
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama)
- Exposure to accreditation, qualification or test acceptance processes
- Experience working with integration labs, simulation environments or ground systems
