Owen Daniels are supporting a leading manufacturer within the precision engineering and advanced manufacturing sector seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join their growing quality team. The business supplies high-integrity components and systems into demanding industries such as aerospace, HVAC, energy, heat exchangers, and industrial manufacturing, where quality, compliance, and continuous improvement are critical. This is a key role offering autonomy, visibility across the business, and the opportunity to influence quality strategy at both operational and senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support quality assurance activities across manufacturing and supply chain operations
- Act as the technical quality authority for internal teams, customers, and suppliers
- Manage and resolve non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Drive continuous improvement using tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and Pareto analysis
- Support and lead internal and external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 or equivalent)
- Oversee supplier quality, including supplier audits and performance improvement
- Review and approve FAIRs, inspection plans, control plans, and quality documentation
- Support NPI and engineering change activities from a quality perspective
- Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and inspectors as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Quality Engineer or similar role
- Background in manufacturing, machining, aerospace, HVAC, defence, or precision engineering
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100
- Confident using quality tools: 8D, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, RCCA
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Strong stakeholder management skills with customers and suppliers
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, shop-floor-based environment
- Right to work in the UK
