Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design & Delivery (50%)
    • Act as the hands-on technical lead for the design and delivery of high-power DC electric vehicle charging systems, including destination charging hubs, fleet depot electrification, and heavy-duty transport infrastructure.
    • Produce, review, and approve all core technical design outputs, including single-line diagrams, site layouts, cable sizing calculations, containment strategies, and equipment specifications using industry-standard design tools.
    • Serve as the primary technical interface with UK network operators and connection providers, leading grid connection applications and managing approvals through to acceptance.
    • Develop, document, and standardise engineering design processes, methodologies, and technical specifications from the ground up.
  • Commercial & Sales Support (30%)
    • Act as a key technical stakeholder supporting commercial teams during early-stage client engagement, site assessments, and competitive tendering processes.
    • Prepare concept-level designs, budget estimates, and technical narratives that support bid submissions and business development activity.
    • Communicate complex technical requirements clearly to non-technical stakeholders, establishing credibility and trust with clients and internal teams from the outset.
    • Play a central role in the organisation’s roadmap toward achieving recognised UK electrical infrastructure accreditations, supporting long-term commercial growth.
  • Team & Capability Building (20%)
    • Shape and develop the technical function, initially coordinating external engineering resources and progressing to the recruitment and leadership of an in-house electrical design team.
