ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. We are seeking an Engineering Team Manager to lead our engineering team of five. The role will report directly to the Head of Operations. The role will predominantly focus on the leadership and development of the engineering team as well as a strong focus on continuous improvement activities on site, including process improvements and cost efficiencies. It’s an exciting time to join the business as we are growing and making changes to the site, which will include new lines and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and supervise the Engineering team including carrying out regular One-To-Ones and PDRs in line with local and group policy.
- Implement, monitor and control a Pre-Planned Maintenance program suitable for Customer and certification level audits.
- Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Control the engineering budget spend, working closely with both the head of operations and the accounts department.
- Work closely with the Production and Planning teams to ensure the required levels of reliability and efficiency from the plant are maintained.
Person / Qualifications:
- Experienced in a similar manufacturing environment, preferably food or FMCG.
- Proven leadership experience, helping develop team members' engineering skills.
- Ability to come to the table with “solutions not problems”.
