Are you an experienced engineering leader with a background in fast-paced manufacturing? Do you excel at developing high-performing teams, driving reliability, and improving operational performance? Are you motivated by the opportunity to shape engineering standards, culture, and capability on a complex production site? MacGregor Black are partnering with a major, high volume manufacturing organisation on the search for an Engineering Manager. This is a confidential permanent role based in the North of England.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering team, driving plant reliability and supporting daily production targets.
- Build a strong “one team” culture with operations and other site functions.
- Manage team performance, HR processes, and skills development plans.
- Ensure accurate completion of planned maintenance and CMMS data.
- Deliver the site capital plan and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong compliance, safety standards, and engineering best practice.
What We’re Looking For
- HND or higher in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- CI qualification (Green Belt minimum) and IOSH Managing Safely.
- Proven engineering leadership experience—ideally within FMCG.
- Strong background in continuous improvement and TPM tools.
- Experience managing capital projects and working in unionised environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder skills.
- Strong CMMS and MS Office (Excel) capability.
