The Role
As a Technical Development Team Lead, you will be a key member of long-lived delivery teams who can shape the delivery, provide technology leadership, guide and support the engineering team for the delivery of high-quality, scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions. You will ensure the team is set up to accept, prioritize and deliver work for multiple products/projects and deliver to clientβs standards with enduring quality.
Your Responsibilities
- Technical
- Contribute to implementation such as coding, automated testing, and creation of High-level designs and architecture.
- Ensure technical needs are merged with feature changes, including operational cost reviews, quality, performance, resilience and recovery, and championing tech debt reduction.
- Lead defect triage and resolution to maintain stability and performance.
- Consolidate estimates using input from specialists in team.
- Team Management
- Ensure work meets criteria with clear scope and outcomes. Prioritizing the backlogs and managing the flow of work through the team. This also covers automation techniques to improve flow.
- Monitor team metrics (SLAs, OKRs, KPIs) and uphold estimation discipline.
- Working with engineering and tests leads to refining processes, tools and practices, embedding agile principles, CI/CD, and DevSecOps, and SRE approaches.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Technical background in one or more of engineering, architecture, DevOps, technical BA, automated testing roles.
- Programming skills in Java based technologies, AWS and Python.
- Experience with Business Change and IT Delivery, both Waterfall and Agile environments.
- Experience using team productivity and work planning tools (current client usage - Atlassian tools JIRA, Confluence).
- Working in team building software crossing multiple platforms and disciplines in a regulated environment.
- Engineering lifecycle and practices, branching, code review, release governance and change control.
- Engineering tool chains and alternative testing approaches such as Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Software Design Patterns and Software Architecture Patterns include deployment choices such as Cloud, PaaS, 3rd Party software. Microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, data platforms and third-party integrations.
- Software builds processes, automation, and deployment techniques. Production topics such as observability and monitoring opportunities.
