My client is a specialist façade contractor, with the capability to act as principal contractor on cladding remediation projects. They deliver bespoke façade systems for both new-build and refurbishment schemes across the UK, with a focus on safety, compliance, and design excellence. Working in close partnership with developers, architects, and main contractors, they provide technically robust and cost-effective façade solutions. Headquartered in Hertfordshire, they are actively delivering projects across London and the home counties.
The Role
They are currently seeking a talented and driven Design Manager to join their growing team, specialising in façade projects (cladding) across a portfolio of live projects. This role will require someone in the office for 4 days a week, with one day working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal design teams and external consultants, including Fire Engineers and Risk Assessors, Structural Engineers, Facade Designers and Principal Designer Advisors.
- Lead and coordinate design activities across multiple remediation projects.
- Collaborate closely with Project Directors and manage input across 8-10 live projects.
- Ensure compliance with the latest Building Safety Act and façade regulations.
- Actively drive the design process from preconstruction through to construction and completion, identifying potential challenges and supporting practical solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in design management, within the façade industry is essential.
