The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
Weapons Instructor β permanent position, onsite work Monday to Thursday (08:00β16:30) and Friday (08:00β13:00). Location Clyde. Pension & enhanced leave allowance available.
The role involves delivering classroom and simulator-based training, primarily focused on Astute Class submarines. The aim is to ensure our armed forces are fully prepared to operate and maintain weapon handling systems safely and effectively across submarine platforms.
Responsibilities:- Training delivery, accountable to the Operations Manager: provide training to students with a wide range of experience, predominantly within the Weapons Electrical (WE) Weapons Handling discipline but also to provide assistance with generic training such as Astute Class Familiarisation and Submarine Qualification Training (SMQ).
- All training is to be delivered to prescribed standards and within contractual requirements.
- Courseware maintenance: liaise with the Training Design (TD) team and provide SME support for the routine review and amendment of WE Weapons Handling courseware.
- Provide SME support to the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact of change on existing WE courseware.
- Liaison with the TD team to implement required change to WE courseware.
- Administration: conduct all administration and reporting activities associated with the delivery of training to contractual requirements and as otherwise directed by the Management team.
- Business Development: provide SME advice in support of the Marine Training Directorate, delivering to cost, schedule and quality for each bid/job allocated.
- Sound knowledge of submarine Tactical Weapons Engineering systems.
- Experience in Weapons Handling operations.
- Qualified Weapons System Board β Competent User Level 3 (CU3) certification.
