Overview
Sybase SQL Database Administrator – London (Hybrid 2x Days Onsite) Contract until End of 2026. Start Date: 2 February 2026.
Required Skills
- 7+ years’ experience with Sybase and/or SQL Server, including performance tuning and stored procedure development.
- 2+ years’ experience in cloud environments with knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and DBaaS.
- Familiarity with RDS/PostgreSQL.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
- Experience with at least one programming language.
- Background in software development and delivery.
- Some experience in Analysis, QA, Delivery Management, and/or Emerging Technologies.
- Linux/Windows administration with scripting (shell/PowerShell).
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab), Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Desirable Skills
- SAP Sybase IQ.
- Database administration experience.
- Sybase Replication / SQL Server Always On.
- Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience in financial markets.
