About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Process Planning Engineer to join a leading aerospace and manufacturing organisation on a contract basis. This role plays a key part in industrial sequencing, line balancing, and improving manufacturing efficiency across production operations. You’ll be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimising manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered within takt time and with maximum efficiency. This position requires strong analytical capability, excellent shop‑floor awareness, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PERT charts, Standard Line Balancing (SLB) and support Production Pace Control (PPC).
- Analyse manufacturing performance, identify gaps, and drive improvement actions.
- Reduce efficiency losses through white/red space analysis.
- Conduct VA/NVA assessments and engage in shop‑floor process optimisation.
- Translate industrial requirements to Design & Supply Chain teams.
- Assess industrial impacts of modification changes.
- Maintain and update Standard Time Value (STV) databases and ensure adherence to STV golden rules.
- Support evolution of industrial set‑up and contribute to digital tool development for STV/SLB.
- Coach and support end users on process standards, tooling, and methodologies.
Required Experience & Skills
- NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) required.
- Strong background in manufacturing engineering.
- Prior experience in lineside engineering or production support is beneficial.
- Build sequence planning and line balancing experience desirable.
- Experience delivering or supporting continuous improvement projects.
- SAP experience is essential.
- Comfortable working across both office and shop‑floor environments.
