Overview
Responsible for conducting exhaustive end-to-end charging experience validation of BEV vehicles across AC and DC charging infrastructure, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements and global standards. Includes in-field testing, instrumentation setup, data logging, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Execute AC/DC charging compatibility tests across multiple regions with >95% CPO coverage.
- Perform instrumentation setup (CCS Listener, INCA data loggers, GPS, SIM cards).
- Validate charging features such as Plug & Charge (PnC) and OneApp integration.
- Collect and synchronize PLC logs, CAN logs (PMZ, XCP-CAN), DTCs, DIDs, GPS data, and EVSE error codes.
- Provide daily operational reports, mid-term progress reports, and final regional reports.
- Analyze unsuccessful charging sessions and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure post-test validation and support for high-risk failures.
- Coordinate with OEM teams for compliance and feature validation.
Required Skills & Knowledge (Must Have)
- Strong understanding of EV charging standards (ISO 15118, CCS, AC/DC protocols).
- Experience with AC/DC charging infrastructure and interoperability testing.
- Proficiency in data logging tools (INCA, CCS Listener) and CAN/XCP protocols.
- Ability to interpret DTCs, DIDs, and perform diagnostic analysis.
- Familiarity with OEM systems (OneApp, PiVi) and Plug & Charge functionality.
- Knowledge of route planning and optimization for EVSE coverage.
- Competence in reporting and dashboard tools for test result visualization.
- UK Class -II driving license.
Preferred Skills (Should Have)
- Experience with field testing and validation in automotive or EV domain.
- Understanding of TLS encryption and ISO 15118 communication.
- Knowledge of EVSE software/hardware variations and update policies.
- Ability to manage central data repositories and ensure data integrity.
- Familiarity with global EVSE manufacturers and CPO networks.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in EV charging systems validation or similar role.
