You might come from business development, recruitment, consultancy, or another client-facing role where your strength has been winning new business and building trust quickly. You don’t need to be an engineer - what matters most is your ability to connect with decision-makers, understand customer needs, and drive commercial growth.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Identify and engage with key stakeholders including developers, contractors, utilities, consultants, and delivery partners
- Create relationships at senior level and position the business early in project lifecycles
- Drive new business conversations that lead to high-value schemes (often £1m+)
- Attend industry events, forums and networking opportunities to raise presence and generate leads
- Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure opportunities are scoped correctly and handed over smoothly
- Keep CRM, pipeline and forecasts up to date and contribute to growth strategy and market positioning
- Track competitor activity, industry shifts and upcoming project opportunities to stay ahead
What We’re Looking For
- A track record of new business development, relationship building, or account growth
- Confidence speaking with stakeholders across utilities, infrastructure or large-scale delivery markets
- Strong ability to identify opportunities, influence early, and convert interest into revenue
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand what the customer values
- Excellent communication skills (with the ability to build credibility quickly)
- A structured approach to pipeline management and prioritisation
- Willingness to travel across the UK for meetings and site visits
About You
- Experience in utilities / ICP / renewables / infrastructure / EV charging
- Familiarity with project-based sales or contract-led industries
- Knowledge of tender processes and longer sales cycles
Why This Role
- Join a business with strong delivery capability and the backing to scale
- A role with real autonomy and scope to shape market approach
- A chance to be the person who drives growth and creates new partnerships
- Competitive package with OTE and performance-based bonus
