Outsource UK is looking to recruit a Control & Instrumentation Engineer for a global bulk liquid storage and logistics organisation to support and enhance industrial automation and OT environments across multiple operational assets. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for maintaining, improving and commissioning instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and DCS systems, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operations within a COMAH-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:- System Management: Maintain and improve SCADA, PLC, DCS, and IACS systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of new control systems or upgrades.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems. Provide support for system maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
- Documentation: Review and prepare technical documents, including system specifications, engineering deliverables, and commissioning procedures.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure proper system troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety standards, including COMAH requirements, and ensure all tasks meet company policies and procedures.
- Relevant experience in control and instrumentation systems.
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA system design, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with fieldbus protocols (Modbus, Profibus, etc.) and industrial networking.
- Ability to review and produce technical documents such as schematics, loop drawings, and system specifications.
- Experience in the design and review of DCS, SIS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
