Position Overview
This role provides deep technical expertise in LMR (Land, Mobile & Radio) security systems, specialising in RF design, system configuration, complex troubleshooting, and optimisation. You will be responsible for the technical integrity and performance of LMR solutions from design to deployment.
What You Will Do
- Design and Documentation
- Produce complete, accurate, and installable design packages, including floor plans (device locations, cabling, and routes), schematic and riser diagrams, detailed rough-in and termination details, and panel elevations.
- Ensure designs adhere to client standards, incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, and meet building codes.
- Review and support design calculations and coordinate photometric and lighting requirements.
- Complete and submit all necessary programming forms required by the SecSystem team to facilitate system commissioning.
- Attend review meetings to integrate feedback and modify standards for unique site conditions.
- Installation and Coordination
- Develop a detailed construction schedule for security activities, lead coordination meetings, and identify project constraints.
- Serve as the central point of contact to coordinate security requirements with major trades, including electrical engineers, architects/door hardware consultants, and Enterprise Network partners.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are procured, onsite, and installed according to design and approved pricing.
- Procure all necessary permits and licences, ensuring compliance with legal and public authority requirements.
- Oversee installation quality, ensuring adherence to good housekeeping practices and cooperation with third-party testing and inspection.
- Provide protection to safeguard Security Systems and property throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Closeout
- Coordinate system programming, perform pre-installation sign-offs, and oversee pre-functional checklists, testing, and final adjustments.
- Demonstrate all systems and component operations for final acceptance.
- Prepare and submit final O&M manuals and as-built documents.
- Ensure training is provided for security, facility, and technical staff where required.
Essential Criteria
- RF design/software certification (e.g., iBwave or similar), Level 2 or higher.
- Exposure to radio operations deployment.
- Minimum of 3β5 years experience in a technical design position.
- Experience with analogue, digital (e.g., P25, DMR, TETRA), and DAS system design and processes.
Desired Criteria
- AutoCAD experience.
- BIM365 experience.
- BLUEBEAM experience.
